Have you ever had the experience of being so focused on the care of your children that you forgot to focus on your own self-care?
If you are like most women, you put everyone else before yourself, feeling guilty about taking the time for yourself. So, you continue to push your desires aside, forging ahead in your motherhood martyrdom, while just under the surface you can feel that low level of anxiety, exhaustion and overwhelm ready to erupt.
When we deny ourselves the experiences that feed us, we are denying ourselves and everyone we are around, our best and most vibrant selves. If we can fill ourselves up with a sense of balance and joy, we will actually impart that to our children. Not only will we give them a mother who is present and happy, but we will also be demonstrating a role model that will influence who they become as an adult.
Now, think of this concept with your business. In many ways, becoming an entrepreneur is like birthing a child. You are bringing forth your vision and supporting your passion and ideas to grow within the world. Like being a parent, being a business owner means that there will always be something more you could/should be doing and it is easy to let your own needs be pushed aside under the guise of "not enough time."
This week, I would like to introduce Elena Lipson, a divine self-care mentor, who has much to say about this very topic. As a mother and business owner she knows first hand the guilt and overwhelm that can cloud our inner spark as we try to get it all done. In this week's interview, Elena shares her story of coming full circle in her beliefs about time, trust and how she allows herself to be refueled by her passions.
Elena invites us all to remember what brings us joy and to to just do it.!
Once we begin to feel alive and connected and happy, those feelings will have no choice to but to spill out into other areas of our lives. We become a ray of positivity and a magnet within our business, drawing people to us just by the simple act of making ourselves a priority in our own lives.
Afterall, its just good business....
