Digging IN - Why It's NOT About The Blueprint/System/Steps...

Does the idea of following the "blueprints" shared in your marketplace bring up a hint of disdain and a feeling of longing desire?

You know, you are likely so over all the systems, steps, and blueprints promoted everywhere - AND at the same time you kind of wonder if it is actually the thing you really need that will finally make all the difference?

  • So the systems don't feel congruent with you and how you do business
  • They make you feel like you're trying to be someone else
  • Maybe it worked once, but it's just not working anymore
  • You know you are here to do things different

So what are you supposed to do?  Because it's sure true that staying STUCK in between isn't working either.

Do you want to know what is more empowering?

Being in charge of your experience, your creation, your results.

Following a system is in a sense giving away some of your power to the system or to an external authority. Someone or something who knows better than you - for you.

Learning systems and structures and formulas are good, fine, valuable, when the time is right, and you're using it in a way that enhances what you're doing as opposed to replacing who you're being in your business.

Think about when you have invested in a system. Isn't there a part of you that is wanting someone to come in and just make it easy for you again, to just make it all better?

I've so been there, done that.

And do you want to know what's even more empowering?

Being in charge of your own results, your own outcome.

Yes, that may sound scary.

Who are you to know what is the next best step?

Surely these other people who have created great successes in their business know more and better than you.

And they do - about how to run THEIR own business.

Unless you are creating a business that is an exact replica of someone else's business, their business model, their unique gifts, who they are and what they're here to create in the world, doing what someone else has done it will only take you so far.

And where it usually takes you is some sort of results doing someone else's business - AND STRESS.

It may work, but for how long.

There is a stress that comes from being incongruent with who you are and what you are here to do with your work in the world. When you're living in this state you may push through, follow the steps, get the results, and something will still be missing.

And for some people at certain stages that's totally fine.

I did that myself.

When I was working in my corporate job I needed to prove to myself that I could make an income being in my own business. And I followed a replicatable model that I enjoyed and learned a lot from. I created success AND discovered that it was not my passion. It still felt like a job.

The stress and anxiety from continuing to do something that is not completely congruent is not what I choose to experience.

I choose to experience conscious excellence in every area of my life.

That doesn't mean that everything is perfect all of the time (or ever??). What it means is that I know that I am the creator of my experience and I believe that things are designed to continually improve. What I know today will evolve into something else overtime.

I choose to always be looking for how I can create an even more amazing experience in every area of my life.

And this is happening while I am full of gratitude for the experience I'm currently having.  Again, it doesn't mean everything is perfect. But I know that each moment is bringing me closer to my Truth and that always leads to something greater.

So I am not going to settle for doing more work that feels like an upgraded version of my job.

So I have been in a long relationship with myself discovering, exploring, refining what is my passion, what are my unique gifts to bring into the world, what is my way of creating an impact?

And I can tell you that doing my WORK from this place is the experience I choose to have.

So as the creator of my experience, I choose to design the systems and formulas and structures that best support me and my work and the impact that I am here to create.

I still continue to invest in support for myself and my business and my ongoing growth and evolution.

And the people I choose to support me are people who:

  • Help me see the greatest version of myself.
  • They challenge me to be more of myself, not a watered-down version of who they are.
  • They help me see the patterns I continue to experience and how to shift them.
  • They help me see the things I can't see for myself.
  • They help me unravel the core of who I am so I can experience massive growth in all areas of my life - instead of one-by-one.  (I can hear the choir singing with that one...)  <3

This is what is important to me. And this is what I bring to my clients and to this community.

I am committed to supporting you to see your greatness, to see the possibilities before you, to support you and never settling for something that is not complete truth.

If you feel that it's easier to follow someone's systems, I invite you to check in with that again.

Isn't it always easier to be yourself?  <3

I would love hear from you!  Post to the BLOG below.

  • Where are you feeling this in your life, in your business, right now?
  • Where does it feel easy or challenging to listen to your truth and determine the best next steps?

Your Story Matters...

Your story is what connects people to you.  It's what draws people to work with you.  It's what makes you REAL.

Your story matters in MANY ways.

So what is YOUR story?  First, there is the story you share about yourself, your experiences, your path.  And second, there is the story you believe and tell yourself about your experiences.

They both matter!  Even though one is more externally facing than the other, they both show up to your potential clients and the world.

There are stories you believe that support you AND there are stories that keep you from creating what you want.  It's those that are keeping you from moving forward that we want to look at right now.  These are the stories that cause us to feel stuck in our action, the beliefs we hold about why things are happening, or even that identify crisis that shows up now and then.

  • I can't have it all.
  • Who am I to take a stand for this, I'm not the expert.
  • I don't know what to offer to my ideal clients.
  • I have to focus on only one thing in order to be successful.
  • I'm not sure if I can charge that much, will people pay that for this?

Here's the thing, your stories can keep you from taking action.  And they can keep people from taking action with you.  There is no denying there is more to it than "take these actions = get these results".  How you show up in your business - your confidence, your leadership, your unwavering belief in the value you offer - all of these show up to your audience in your actions, your behaviors, the words you choose, the way you hold your body.

And it also show's up in an energetic way.

There is a sense people have that isn't so easily put into words.  So if you are telling yourself you want more clients, but you are secretly dreading that anyone signs up - you won't sign on any more clients.  Either your actions, behaviors, or words will influence this by "self-sabatoging", OR you can even more subtly repel a new client from coming on board without even knowing it.  It's like there's some kind of smell that pushes them away - except it's instead of a smell, it's more a sense or a feeling.

So now it's time to clean up all the ways you are subtly pushing away what you really want to be creating in your business.  Take the first step by joining me at my next class here

Celebrating 50 Episodes!

This week we are celebrating the 50th episode of The Inspired Woman Project!

This podcast series has been such an exciting and amazing experience!  I am so grateful to connect with these women who inspire us to create our own definition of success.

This all started with a desire to bring the big vision of my business out into the world in a way of service.  I wanted every woman to know that she could create exactly what she wants, separate from other people's expectations, judgments, and experiences.

When we each connect with that part of us and take actions in that direction, we are an incredible model for our children, to be true to who they are. Imagine them living  in their greatness now, every day.  instead of waiting until they are ready to release everyone's expectations and beliefs.  It feels so powerful and inspiring.

With every interview I see more and more how beautiful it is to follow our own unique path,  finding our purpose.  And how passionate I feel about supporting women to discover, live, and express their greatness and to leverage business and sales to bring it into reality.

Every interview has a different story to tell and yet all of the stories are the same.  It is a peeling back of the layers, a discovery, a commitment to truth, and an unwillingness to settle.

The path to this discovery looks different for each person, yet when we discover our truth, our soul purpose, and who we are at soul level, things begin to click into place.

I would love to hear from you what episodes resonate most with you, which story inspired you to take a new action, which story is your story, which story gave you a new perspective?

This week I am full of gratitude for each woman who has been willing to share her vulnerability and her story of discovery and truth.

I am grateful for everyone who listened to an episode, who shared their feedback, and who shared this with other amazing women!

I am grateful that this is what I get to do for my work.  And I'm grateful that this week I will be knee deep in creating magical experiences with my kiddos.

I'm sending each of you love and blessings for a beautiful, fulfilling holiday experience! Enjoy!

Be Inspired!  Take Action.

A Love Letter to the Dream-Stealers...

Welcome to our Guest Blogger Series!

This is where we feature amazing women with a powerful perspective in business and the world!

This week, my guest blogger is Anne Perry, founder and CEO of Business Heroine Magazine.

After spending her early adult years burdened by debt and suffocating in jobs that drained the life out of her, Anne knew a few things to be true: 1) The 9-5 hamster wheel setup is not what life is meant to be about, 2) There is a way out, and 3) She was going to find it and leave a breadcrumb trail for others like her.

Anne built Business Heroine as a platform to broadcast the voices of women who, despite obstacles, decide to break free of the mold and create life according to her own design. Discover the magazine for the entrepreneur who says she will, and does, at BusinessHeroineMagazine.com

To the dream-stealers,

We believed you for many years.

Our hearts sank and our shoulders slumped as what you believed was (im)possible formed our own prison walls.

We *almost* accepted that the dreams we held so close to our hearts were… Unrealistic. Risky. For them, not us. Flat out fantasy.

Because you’re very convincing. And you’re everywhere. You tell us to get our head out of the clouds. Sometimes with harsh words. Sometimes with a teasing laugh. Sometimes with a pep-talk and a dose of well-intended advice.

Sometimes it’s just a look in your eyes. Is it judgement? Worse; pity? It’s masked with a smile, but we see it. And it cuts straight to our heart.

After all, you’ve seen us try and fail before. It’s embarrassing. Spirit-deflating.

What makes us think this time could be different? Maybe we are living in fantasy. Delusional. Destined to be a dreamer that never quite makes it. Maybe we just. don’t. have. what. it. takes.

We believed you.

But here’s the truth…

We do have dreams, but we are not dreamers.

We are possibility seers – expanders of what is and what can be. We are healers – leading a new way of being and thinking. We are entrepreneurs – creators of what’s invisible today, yet which will change the world tomorrow.

We’re here on a mission.

We have big work to do.

So big – so important – it hurts our spirit not to do it.

That’s why – even amidst your doubts – we continue to get up, even after a bad fall. That’s why we choose to follow desire rather than should. That’s why we pursue our dreams no matter what.

You can join us if you want. Or, you can continue to laugh, scold, and pity us for believing in what you know is (im)possible.

In the meantime, we’ll just go about Seeing. Healing. Creating. We’ll just go and do it.

with love,

The “Dreamers”

Exciting News!

I am excited to share with you that we will be launching a new podcast next week, The Inspired Woman Project! The series is designed for busy working women, with children, who want to be successful in a way that feels good (without the stress, anxiety and guilt), make a bigger impact with their work, AND enjoy their own unique balance between work and home.

Each episode and interview will offer you something you can take away that will support you in living more joy, presence and your unique definition of success. We'll share stories of successful women who have used their feelings of stress, anxiety or guilt as a guide to discover what was needed and what that path looked like for them.

Check back here next week for the first episode!
